Happy New Year Everyone!
The day has finally come. I’m getting on a plane in 14ish hours. I think I made the most of this week; saying goodbye to friends and family; eating at all of your stereotypical American restaurants (BWWs, Chipotle, Taco Bell, Big Ten, etc.); and going to see a Vikings game. The holiday season has definitely kept me busy.
Ali and I will have a few lay-overs tomorrow, one in New York and another in Zurich, Switzerland. We’ll finally arrive in Rome around 4pm Roman time (7 hours ahead of Minneapolis). I’m bummed that I will miss a bunch of bowl games tomorrow…I hope to catch a peek in the airport in New York. Nothing would make me happier than for Wisconsin to lose in the Rose Bowl, again.
Our plan is to backpack around Rome for two weeks prior to catching a flight to Madrid to start our studies at Toledo. The tentative plan is to visit Rome, Florence, Pisa, Sienna, and Venice. I’ll try to update this blog sometime during the trip.
